Dominican College Transfer 2016- 2017 arrangements
On the evening of Monday 16th May, Ms Ronan, Dominican principal, spoke to a large group of P6 parents and pupils about the arrangements for transferring to Dominican in September 2017. The arrangements are slightly different this year as the enrolment for 2017 will rise to 100 places. 69 of these places will be selected on academic performance in the GL assessment; the remaining 31 places will be allocated on non-academic criteria. Ms Ronan was keen to stress that pupils who apply to sit the entrance assessment can potentially apply for any of the 100 places; pupils who do not sit the assessment can only access the additional 31 places in 2017.
Dominican College will continue to band pupils into Grades and use additional criteria in allocating the 69 places. The 31 additional places will be allocated on non- academic criteria- it is proposed that these will include: pupils who make Dominican College first choice, Pupils who have a current sibling at the school, pupils who have had a sibling at the school in the past, eldest child and date of birth.
Registration packs were given out on Monday night and additional packs are available either by contacting the school office (02870832715) or by downloading from the pptcni.com website.
Please do not hesitate to contact the school for any information regarding this year’s transfer arrangements.
