Year 8 Soccer lift Cup 2017

Well done to our Year 8 Football team who have just won the Coleraine and District League after a thrilling victory over Coleraine College in last Friday’s final.

With our increased intake in year 8 we are able to draw from a larger than ever pool of talent and Mr Carey expressed his delight at having a panel of 21 players to choose from. The boys have bonded well over the course of the season and have gone unbeaten since their first game. The wider group of boys has given Mr Carey the welcome headache of trying to decide on his best 11 players for each game.

Mr Carey explained, “We topped our group after winning all 4 league fixtures against North Coast, Magherafelt, Ballycastle High and Coleraine College. The boys produced a superb display against Coleraine College in the final and went on to win 4-1. This is the fifth year in a row that Dominican have qualified for the final and their third time lifting the cup and it is great to see soccer going from strength to strength across all year groups in the school”.

Well done to all the boys expertly skippered superbly by Kacper Borchun.
